My name is Karen Miller and my husband and I run Baby Barks just north of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  As a child, my family purchased our first Bichon Shih Tzu from Pooch Palace Kennels in 1986 and my love was born!   I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be under the mentorship of Colette Francis, retired owner/breeder at Pooch Palace.  I am so thankful to be using proven Pooch Palace genetics, which I believe can't be paralleled, and have my knowledge increased by someone of her experience.

As a registered nurse, it's been my pleasure to use my background in health care to better manage our amazing population of dogs.  My understanding of nutrition, reproduction, disease management, illness prevention, hygiene, genetics and health promotion has been hugely beneficial and allows us to maintain the healthiest group of adults and puppies possible.
